How do I export a report to excel that only exports to a text file?
Not all C21 reports can be export to a CSV file for use in Excel. To export a text file to Excel, use the export icon at the top of your report and export to a text file in a location you will remember. Open Excel and follow these instructions:
1. Go to File > Open and browse to the location that contains the text file.
2. Select Text Files in the file type dropdown list in the Open dialog box.
3. Locate and double-click the text file that you want to open.
4. If the file is a text file (.txt), Excel starts the Import Text Wizard. Click Next to look at the Data preview. Use the down arrow to reach the first text line containing the check numbers. Drag the vertical arrows to expand the columns as needed but the columns should line up. Click the ruler to add an arrow for a new column if necessary.
5. Click Next and Finish. Your changes will open in an Excel spreadsheet. Delete any extraneous rows, change the text, and rearrange the columns if needed. Do a SUM function to total the columns.
