Configure Email - SMTP Server Name

Enter the email address you wish to send mail from in the appropriate box in General Ledger/Configure/Company. Click Configure Email below the email address.

Enter the SMTP server name for the email account you will be using. The SMTP server name can usually be found in your email's Account Settings.

Outlook:
1. In Outlook, click the File tab.
2. There should be an 'Account Settings' box under 'Account Information'. Open 'Account Settings' and click the 'Email' tab. Double-click the email account you will be using.
3. Under 'Server Information', you will see the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) address listed.
4. Enter this information in the 'SMTP server' name field.

Thunderbird:
1. In Thunderbird, from the Main menu, go to Tools/Account Settings.
2. In the left pane, scroll down to the very bottom and highlight 'Outgoing Server (SMTP).
3. In the right pane, scroll the upper frame as needed to find the desired 'Outgoing Server Settings'.
4. Highlight the relevant entry.
5. The bottom frame will display the details needed for configuration.

Google Mail
The server name for Google Mail accounts is smtp.googlemail.com.

Yahoo Mail
The server name for Yahoo Mail accounts is smtp.mail.yahoo.com.

Hotmail
The server name for Hotmail accounts is smtp.live.com.


AOL Mail
The server name for AOL Mail is smtp.aol.com.
