Tax Remittance Vendor

Enter or select the name of the Payables vendor to whom you remit payments for the sales taxes or for the Payroll taxes collected for this authority. You can remit taxes associated with any number of authorities to the same central tax collector.

Sales tax example.  The collector for all sales tax authorities might be the State Comptroller or the Receiver General.  You can set up the State Comptroller or the Receiver General as a Payables vendor and associate the appropriate sales tax authorities with that vendor in the Payables/Configure/Tax Authorities window.

Payroll tax example. You might deposit your collected federal Payroll taxes with a certain financial institution or Federal Reserve Bank. You can set up the financial institution or Federal Reserve Bank as a Payables vendor and associate the appropriate federal Payroll taxes (US FIT, US SS and US Med, for example) with that vendor in the Payroll/Configure/Taxes window.

In the Payroll/Configure/Taxes window, you enter or select the name of the remittance vendor to whom you remit payments from Payroll withholding and contributions collected for this tax.

You must first create the Payroll tax remittance vendor with the Payroll/Configure/Remittance Vendors command or "on the fly" by pressing F9 at the Remittance vendor field in the Taxes window.
